The Event of The Year is Coming: The Australian Good Food & Wine Show
Australia’s biggest food and wine show
The food and wine event to end all food and wine events is back and bigger than ever. The Australian Good Food & Wine Show is gearing up to take Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane by storm. With an impressive lineup of Australia’s best and brightest chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, cheese specialists and food experts, you’ll be in for a weekend to remember, that’s for sure.
As the official partner of the Australian Good Food & Wine Show, Quandoo wants to make sure you see and experience as much delicious food as possible. So we’ve drummed up a list of key events, recommendations and the like, so you can eat, drink, sample and taste like a pro.
What to expect at the Australian Good Food & Wine Show
Showcasing an impressive array of local and international exhibitors, masterclasses and presentations from leading chefs, the Australian Good Food & Wine Show never ceases to dazzle. The event is Australia’s longest running and largest food and wine show, with over 110,000 visitors each year. It’s a weekend of eating, drinking and learning and is a steadfast event in the food industry. Make sure you arrive really hungry and with a group keen to take it all in.
Events you don’t want to miss
With general admission you can partake in workshops that include the Let’s Eat Citi Dining Pop-Up, Riedel Drinks Lab and Tucker’s Natural Cheese Alley, then sample from over 200 exhibitors. Or, learn to match cheese and wine, learn how to mix a world-class cocktail or how to create an award-winning margherita pizza with the owner of Italian icon 400 Gradi, Johnny Di Francesco. You’ll be sipping and nibbling all weekend. What could be better than that?
For those after even more, there are multiple masterclasses to choose from. For example, chef extraordinaire Matt Moran and his best friend, talented artist Vincent Fantauzzo, take to the stage for a special Australian BBQ event you don’t want to miss. Or perhaps you’re a brunch fanatic? If so, the Brunch Time, Wine Time event is for you. You’ll be treated to a delicious brunch spread matched with bubbles, Moscato, Rosé and more. Bet you didn’t think you could love brunch more…
This year, one key event you should keep an eye out for is Double Trouble in the Princess Cruises Theatre. Here, you’ll be treated to chefs teaming up with their favourite person to cook with. Expect to see two Australian icons, a husband and wife duo, a chef and butcher and plenty more special teams.
If wine is your thing, the Wine Selector’s Cellar Door is a win, as is the free wine tasting in the Riedel Drinks Lab or The Barossa Experience. And what goes with wine? Cheese, of course. If this floats your boat then The Smelly Cheese Project headed by Valerie Henbest should be high on your agenda.
It’s all delicious, folks
To be honest, there’s nothing about the Australian Good Food & Wine Show we don’t love. As the event of the year for foodies and wine buffs, missing this would be a sad time indeed, meaning booking tickets for you and your friends is well worth it.
